The idea for a lawn bowling club was generated by a small group of parents from East Lindfield Public School. The site chosen was dense scrubland and a large rocky outcrop at what is now 2B Carlyle Road. The area was in those days frequented by the Lyrebird hence the club logo. Six allotments were purchased for 600 pounds! A princely sum for those times.
Since then the Club has developed into one of the premier clubs on the North Shore. Today the Club offers a wonderful venue for recreational and competitive bowls for both men and women with mixed social bowls held three days a week.
Recently refurbished the Club now provides a modern and ideal venue for functions in a wonderful peaceful setting.
Lindfield Bowling Club is located in the leafy surrounds of Carlyle Road with ample off street parking. The Club was established in the early 1950’s and now sports three of the best greens in NSW.
